A native of Nashville, TN, John Horrell began his professional career at age 19 as the first on-air engineer for what is now FOX17. While studying at Belmont University, John worked with Nashville Public Television and also received his first class FCC Radio/Telephone license.

John played many roles during the 1980's, including partner in the venerable Nashville real estate firm Horrell Properties and creator and President of Broadcast Marketing Associates. Under John’s guidance, BMA created and syndicated the wildly popular “Spotlight on Country” television program to over 90% of the nation. More television properties followed during this time including the syndication of the “Ernest” character played by actor and comedian, Jim Varney.

Chris Horrell

Chris Horrell came on board with Durrell in 2001 after attending the University of Mississippi. He had a background in large scale installations with previous projects such as Kansas City Chiefs, Vanderbilt Memorial Gymnasium as well as several projects on the local level. Chris started as the Operations Manager overseeing the maintenance contracts as well as the operation of the Motor Sports Division of Durrell. His first duties as a Project Manager were to supervise the sound system installation of a WHJW design at the Kansas City Royals’ Kaufman Stadium in 2003.  Chris served as the Project Manager on later projects to include the design/install at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the design/install at Atlanta Motor Speedway, the design/install at Bristol Motor Speedway, the acoustical install at the Indian Pacer’s Conseco Field House, the install at Cincinnati Bengal Paul Brown Stadium, the design/install at Cleveland Browns Stadium, and the design/install of the Sommet Center in Nashville, TN.

Greg Vanhoose joined the Durrell Sports Audio team in 2006. He has spent the last 3 years on staff at the Sommet Center as an Audio Visual Technician. Before that Greg attended School of Audio Engineering Nashville studying audio engineering, graduating in 2002 and immediately started doing freelance work throughout the southeast. A tour of duty in the United States Air Force (1998-2001) allowed Greg to study electronics and communications which seamlessly translated into the world of audio production. As an engineer for Durrell, Greg handles Audio/Visual and communication needs for everything from corporate meetings to Sporting events, concerts and full television productions.

Gary Fletcher

Gary joined the Durrell Sports Audio team in 2007. He previously worked for Gaylord Entertainment Center in the Operations and Audio/Visual
departments for 2 years. Prior to working at Gaylord, Gary worked for the Independence Arena and Bobcats Arena in Charlotte, NC. Gary has graduated from the Installers Institute and was involved in designing and building some of the world's loudest vehicles. As a member of the durrell tean, Gary handles all Audio/Visual communications for the Bridgestone Arena.
